Who needs a Food Protection Manager Certificate?
In Utah, each food service establishment must be managed by at least one full-time certified food safety manager at each establishment site, who need not be present at the establishment site during all its hours of operation.

Our ANAB-accredited Food Protection Manager course and exam is accepted in Utah.
How long does it take to complete?
The course takes about 6 to 8 hours to complete and is entirely online. The exam has a 2 hour time limit.

There are two possible test forms you can take. Both test forms are equivalent with the same minimum passing score of 75% +\- 0.1%.
Do I need to schedule the final exam?
No. Our on-demand remote proctored exam is available 24/7. You just start the exam and within a few minutes a live proctor will come online to get you started.
How does remote proctoring work?
Once you have completed the course, you are ready to take the exam. The exam will have a Remote Proctor, meaning that you will need a computer with a camera and audio, which allows a remote live proctor to observe you while you take the exam.
In order to take your certification exam, you must have a system that meets the requirements and a valid ID. Watch the video to see all the rules that our proctoring partner, Integrity Advocate, enforces to ensure the exam is taken securely.

Once you’ve set up your exam area and the Integrity Advocate proctor has approved, you may begin the exam. You must score a passing grade of 75% to receive your Food Protection Manager Certification.
Your certification will become available in your account within 1-2 business days after passing the exam.
Can I take the course and exam on a mobile device?
You can take the course on a phone, tablet, or computer. However, you must take the exam on a computer with working camera, mic, and speakers.
When do I get my certificate?
You’ll receive your Responsible Training Food Protection Manager Certificate within 1 to 2 days after passing the final exam.
For how long is the certificate valid?
While the ANAB CFP Food Protection Manager Certificate is valid for 5 years, the state of Utah requires that you be recertified every 3 years.
